Finn EoE Update

Finn EoE Update

The news is, we have no news yet.

Very anticlimactic, I know. When updating all these long overdue posts, I re-read my hiatus post and realized we were supposed to have had Finn's scope by now. It was a combination of factors, but his March scope never happened and we are now looking at a mid-May date for his follow up scope.

So we have been doing the top 8 (extended to 10) elimination diet since January. We are ALL frustrated. Poor Finn is getting pretty sick and tired of meat and potatoes and I'm running out of creative ideas that he will actually consume. He has been dropping not so subtle hints about missing pizza for over 5 months now. I'm not kidding. He came home from school one day with an art project resembling some kind of little creature and he proudly shows me and declares "his name is pizza eater!" Five minutes later..."so....what's for dinner?"

Smooth kid, smooth.

We have made vegan, gluten free pizza...which he likes-but honestly leaves us all wondering-what's the point of this? I'm convinced he likes it out of sheer desperation.

Anyway!

Please, please send all your good vibes our way for his scope in two weeks. If we don't get the all clear, I don't know what I will do. Meaning, if we are told after eliminating 10 major food groups from his diet for 5 months did not successfully clear the eosinophils from his throat & digestive system-what will?

I know, positive thinking yields positive results, right? Ok. So...this IS going to work and we will have answers soon.

Pretty please Universe. Throw us a bone here, we're trying really hard.

And as always, thanks for all of the love and support and recipes you've sent our way.

xoxo

A recent trip to visit friends out of state. My best friend from childhood has a daughter born 3 days before Finn! Too fun. The kids had an amazing weekend together.
