Homemade Play Dough

Homemade Play Dough

Why? Well, this was just for fun.

It's a great activity that can keep at least one of my little's busy while I bake more. Finn likes to mimic what I do, so I toss him some of my cookie cutters and a rolling pin so he can bake like Mom.

You only need 5 ingredients.

2 cups flour

3/4 cup salt

4tsp cream of tarter

2 cups water

2 tbsp of vegetable oil

And then of course food coloring, which is optional but obviously makes this way more fun. This recipe makes a giant dough ball as you can see, so I divided it up and made 4 separate colors.

My parents were in town for a visit, so here is my Dad mixing all of the ingredients together over a medium flame.

I made these back in September. We store them in individual ziplock bags and then again in a giant gallon ziplock all together. I don't know if it's the double sealing but these are still as soft as the day we made them! A weekend favorite for sure.

Enjoy!
